Hello! How are you? This is Metamor's Kato.
Today's theme is “ The way of using Pink and Red” .
Normally, Red and pink are "Colors of sweet faction"
They are much more sweeter when it becomes Lolita fashion
If you want to use warm colors and show them muted, this is the easiest method to do so with achromatic colors. For example, a pink pinafore dress with a black cardigan or something like that. But someone who usually wears pink and red wouldn't like that because the color combination is too much.
In that case, I would recommend Gray. :-)
Gray can give a slightly softer impression.
Metamorphose has recently offered gray clothes like Punkma Band Hoodie. I consciously use gray in our new “Vintage Poodle” series. Please look at the fabric sample, you'll feel the soft impression.
Figure out how to mix and match to look your best! Everyone is different!
I'd like you to wear comfortable colors like Pink and Red irrespective of your age.

| Hello! Long time no see.
This is Metamor's Kato.
I will explain the color Dark Red and Bordeaux this time.
I think Dark Red and Bordeaux are colors showing gorgeousness and luxury.
Some people may think Bordeaux is difficult to coordinate. Don't worry!
There are different nuances and moods according to the color that you coordinate with.
These different color combinations change the image completely.
For example, Bordeaux X Brown is one of the basic combinations.
You look sedate in this.
But why don't you try other combinations? :-)
Case 1: Bordeaux X Pink
I suppose this combination is elegant and lovely.
Those who like pink have a tendency to coordinate EVERYTHING with pink.
That's pretty, but other people might feel that you always wear the same pink clothes.
Pink X White is fresh and good for summer, Pink X deep color like Bordeaux is rather classical and good for autumn and fall, I believe.
Case 2: Bordeaux X Black
If you feel uneasy when you coordinate Bordeaux X Black, add other colors.
Pearl necklaces and bracelets, and antique gold accessories are really useful!
Wear antique white or bordeaux head accessories with black clothes.
It's also good to wear antique white or off white socks.
Figure out how to mix and match to look your best ! Everyone is different!
By the way, Bordeaux goes great together with our TOY BOX series.

Happy new year!! This is Metamor’s Kato.
I’ll be counting on you this year.
Well, in December, I was running around with my head cut off! Of course all deadlines are in December, so you know how busy I was. *forced smile* That was better than being bored ;)
At New Years, thanks to all you guys who lined up from early morning for our Lucky Pack. It was cold out side at that time, so I wrote that you had better to care about being ‘’warm enough’’, and not ‘’fashion’’ on the billboard. But I’m afraid you got cold. Are you OK?
If you feel sick, I suggest you keep warm and stay at home.
There is a lot of flu going around, BUT!! Actually, I have not caught a cold this winter. I don’t have any time to be sick. So I pray and pray I don’t catch any colds this year!! (Last year, I got ill and had to ride in an ambulance and got a shot. That was my first time…)
But, there are no medicines to prevent catching a cold, so I wash my hands and gargle more than often. I think it works! The gargle, ‘’green tea is the best to gargle rather than mouthwash or tea’’ so my drink during winter is green tea, mainly. To drink green tea takes a little extra effort like having a warm pot and taking tea leaves out… And it is pretty expensive to get good one, hum? I tried green tea I bought in a 100 yen shop but… It wasn’t green tea… It was ‘’water that tasted like grass’’…
(I use it for an aroma heater. Smells good!!)
Then I found the ‘’Instant Green Tea’’ in the grocery store. I cannot say it has a good taste but it tastes like bottled green tea. Now we can drink hot tea whenever we want. The office members love this tea. (There is a ‘’Roasted Tea’’ one in the same series so I tried it… I didn’t like the taste.)
And I often buy green tea before I ride on the train. The place where it is easy to get a cold… that is in the train going to the office and going back home. I am careful because I know the virus is flowing in the air if someone nearby is coughing. (Viruses blow about 2 meters by one sneeze or cough.) If there are no people that look like they have caught a cold, that’s the best. But the worst one, people in front of you are coughing. I’m sorry but please excuse me, I don’t want to get any colds!!
The green tea which I buy in the morning, I use to drink in the train or if somebody is coughing around me, then I go to the bathroom and gargle with it. Sometimes I feel tired to do that but I always catch a cold when I feel like that. I think there is a difference to do or not. If you don’t want to catch cold this winter, please try! Test-takers, it would be different to do or not, please try, too. (If you are embarrassed to gargle in public… do it in the bathroom. *smile*)
Others, wash hands with hand soap, do ventilation if there are people with colds in the office, etc… Take a little more effort to not catch cold.
In fact, ‘’It is common in Japan to sometimes guard with a mask’’ may be some of you think that. It is perfect!! I saw some people with masks. BUT I have hay fever… I never ever wear a mask in the pollen season. I’m sorry I am stubborn… I don’t like masks.
This is another story but there are many people who go to live concerts or trips by highway bus. Probably you have already ridden one if you like bands. But the air is very dry and the windows can’t open, and you also cannot get off the bus on the way, can you? You cannot enjoy yourself if you catch a cold on a bus. I suggest you use a mask. Sleeping with a mask is a little hard to breath, but it is much better than being too dry.
And if you bring something to drink, water is the best I think. I brought a small towel when I rode. Wet the towel with that water and put it on my face and sleep. Inside the bus it is very dry so the towel dries so fast!! So I wet the towel a couple of times. It blocks colds and if your age is as mine, it also blocks wrinkles from dry air. *forced smile*
Please take care of yourself and don’t catch a cold.
*Inside of Lucky Pack -how to use-*
At the end of last year and the beginning of this year, we sold our Lucky Pack. This ‘’Luck Pack’’ thing, we don’t know what is inside. (of course.) ‘’I like to buy Lucky Pack… But I’m afraid to get what I don’t like…’’ Maybe many people are worried about that.
There are some people who really like Lucky Packs and buy every year because they enjoy not knowing what’s in it. Or some people are going to start Lolita fashion and buy a Lucky Pack. And others, who already have clothes but want some new ones.
For you all, I explain how to use what is inside the Lucky Pack.
In case you get colors that you don’t wear usually.
You wear only monotone colored clothes …But pink…!! I can imagine that case. ‘’Pink is not my color.’’ Don’t give up!! Why don’t you think of how to coordinate pink clothes that will look good on you? Try ;)
I will explain the color Pink now.
First, first time to wear pink clothes.
Wear the dress and you feel weird. ‘’I don’t think pink is good on me!!’’
Please look carefully WHY you feel like that.
Pink is pretty difficult for those who don’t have bright white skin, I think. I think it is hard to match with Asian skin color… So if you feel like pink is not your color, please try to make-up for pink clothes.
For example, change your eye shadow’s color and cheek’s color. I think it works well. If you use black mascara or eye liner, it may be too heavy for pink so why don’t you change to brown so it looks softer. ‘’You said white skin looks good with pink.’’ But don’t put white on your face!! Put a little bit of lighter foundation around your eyes. (I always do makeup that way.) Use a lighter color blush and put it on a little bit in the middle of your cheeks. And lipstick or gloss, don’t put on deep color if it looks heavy, choose the natural and light color, I suggest.
If you do Gothic makeup everyday you are getting the feeling that pink is not so bad, aren’t you?
Done the makeup, the next is hairdo.
The most popular hair cut is thin out sharp image looking. It is a little different by pink’s soft image, so I want to change your hair style, but hair is not growing that fast…
At such a time, why don’t you challenge the WIG??
BUT, school rules say you cannot change your hair color, but a wig!! Don’t get a blond one… That’s pushing it. Be careful!! If your real hair color is blond or you dyed your hair blond, getting a blond wig is OK. But other girls, may get natural dark color fast. *smile* If you are one who goes to a school with strict rules or an office, I understand you want to change your hair color by wig, but at first, please choose the one that is a little bit lighter color than your natural hair. It is not that much of a change but you don’t have to!! (Changing your hair color means you need to change your makeup, too.) There are a lot of wig styles but the first one you get is what I just told you. It is better not to be so curly in length. Wig styled with loose curly hair is useful to use when you have a casual style. Any way, I push wigs that are ‘’Natural’’. BTW, the bangs of wig, you can cut whatever length you like. If you are afraid to cut, you can ask how to treat it at the beauty salon where you go. (The cost is around 1000 yen when I go to cut my bangs so maybe it is around that.)
If you want to change your hair for pink and sweet Loli taste clothes, cut your bangs a little shorter than normal. It looks different and changes your appearance a lot! Actually, I have long bangs right now, but I used to have short straight horizontal bangs to my eyebrows. It looks younger to almost anyone, doesn’t it? I think the bangs length is the big difference between Loli chan in 90’s and now. Loli chang in 90’s, bangs and eyebrows were cut very thick and heavy. We didn’t care about the length of our eyebrows. There are non Loli chan with thinned out hair and most of them have straight long hair. I cut my bangs once a week by myself. So I needed to go to a beauty salon to do a straight perm. *laugh* My bangs was so short that I needed to wet my hair and blow dry to fix them. (It was impossible to wash my hair in the morning with my thick hair!!)
Well, just put that old story away, don’t you think ‘’you look different’’ when you change your hairdo or makeup?
And now, please rethink about wearing a pink dress!! Don’t you think you look better than before??
AND! The biggest point, ‘’do not make your image by yourself’’.
I heard ‘’these are not good on me.’’ Or ‘’I don’t think this color looks good on me.’’ Or etc… There are many people that decide that by themselves.
Don’t be so judgmental. It will all be over if you judge yourself like that…
So do not think ‘’black is discreet.’’ Or ‘’pink is not discreet.’’ Choose your clothes with free feeling and challenge different types of fashion!! *grin*
For example, there are all types of looks of ‘’Gal fashion’’ by people who don’t know anything about “Gal fashion”. Same with Lolita fashion. So everything is just ‘’Goth-Loli’’ for that person. *lol* So I think it is a must to not think about what they think. More important is to enjoy your personnel fashion!!
If you get something and say ‘’I don’t think it looks good on me, at ALL!!’’ from the Lucky Pack, don’t be so conservative!! If you can make that dress look good on you, you’ll be the best stylist!!
And if you have a problem with size, or if you try a lot of different ways but just can’t make it work, bring it to an auction or recycle shop is one way. Or, think of a friend that has or wants Lolita clothing. If there are, why don’t you swap with them or maybe they want to have those kind of clothes but no chance. Or it may make the PERFECT birthday present. (is it too much to give them all?)
It is one to make your new Lolita friends. Please use this Lucky Pack your own way!!

Hello! This is Metamor's Kato.
In Japan, I thought that the winter had already come…But these days at noon, the weather feels more like Spring!! So I don't know when I should wear a coat. *forced smile*
Now most of the town is decorated for Christmas. I feel weird because the weather doesn't feel like Christmas at all!!
I always bake a cake for Christmas. It is not an ordinary cake, it is a fruit cake with raisons, nuts and brandy. Usually, I bake 2 of them with the biggest pound cake pan I have. It is gone after I gave it to everyone. It is not eatable directly after it is baked. It needs to age about 10 days. So I'm going to bake them this weekend. When I chose my academy to study, I wanted to go to a sweets one first, sewing next, and the last one was beautician. You know the conclusion by my job now! I still like to bake some sweets and fix hair of the models for our fashion show! Oh, I also like home improvement stores!! *lol*
I think I like making things…Please try baking some cakes for your Christmas!

*Shirring Tiered Ribbon Pinafore Dress
This IS Metamorphose, you know. It is our basic style but it looks different because of the fabric. It is a kind of mysterious pinafore dress. *smile* This time, the dress is made of raschel lace fabric for Gothic girls, and if you like casual and cute things, I suggest the tartan check one for you. And for a solid color, we made navy this time. So you may find your favorite one!!
This dress runs out so quickly all the time, so if you want one, please contact the shop as soon as possible.
*Pinafore Dress with Corsage
I think we haven't made any dresses like this silhouette before. This dress makes for a slender waist line and thinner image. If you feel you cannot find your size, please try this dress. This is great when you need to look smashing and gorgeous! Try it with a cardigan or bolero for party time. This is not your typical Lolita-ish dress, so coordinate with our Mary Jane shoes. I also think it is looks good with sandals. If you don't have many chances to go out in Lolita fashion, this will be a useful dress for you.
*Ribbon Pearl Bustier and Skirt Set*
This one also does not look like any other products from Metamorphose. The bustier makes for a slender silhouette and a medium long length skirt. It looks a bit mature, more so than our ‘'Pinafore Dress with Corsage'' or something. The ribbon that comes with it can also be used in your hair. Try coordinating with something simple, sometimes without the broach.
For example, the Lolita-chang who are working in an office where there is no cute fashion (oh. So sad!), this set would be good for you when you go out after work. For a quick change, it is hard to bring other clothes, but bringing broaches and a bustier is much lighter than having to carry something else. It is also cute to put the ribbon broaches on your cardigan.
If you don't like black coordinates, please try wearing with some other colored clothes. Coordinating with a stand-up collar blouse looks chic. If you like cute coordinates, I suggest the fur cape.

Christmas is coming!! So we're planning on starting our Christmas Fair on December 10th. We will begin to accept reservations for the Kimono print series, which will be able to be seen starting this weekend, on that date. Hello. This is Metamor's Kato.
Tokyo, Fukuoka, Osaka…I have been traveling so much for events, oh no!! It is almost the end of November!!
The time passed so fast that I feel fear, how are you doing?
The strong influenza will be coming, I've heard, so I'm thinking of taking a flu shot. I didn't used to think much about that but I feel my resistance and resilience are dropping!! All the same, my body is getting older than I thought. *forced smile* When I catch the flu, I give it to all the staff in the office even if they want it or not. So I decided to take some decisive action!!
By the way, I want to say ‘'thank you'' to everyone who came to the events in Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Osaka!! The events were all different, but each of them was very exciting and fun. I got to have fun 3 times. If I have a chance, I want to do some fashion show at some events…I am thinking about this in my mind *smile* Of course, I suggest you to come if you're interested. I think there are too few chances to go out with Lolita dress-up style in Japan. For example, if someone goes to concerts often, they can dress up, and even with other events like the anime competition or something. But maybe you need to carry a big bag and other stuff!! There are not so many events to be able to dress up in Japan, I think. I've heard a few customers tell me ‘'I do not have any friends in Lolita…So I don't want to go these events.'' But there are many people like you, so please do not feel alone. Think Boldly and join the event!!
There are some people who do not like to go out alone like me. The place that I don't know…it gives me a lot of stress…but I felt like I wanted to be the lady who could enjoy something by myself. Then I thought I would try to go to a lot of places by myself. Now I can go anywhere alone. *smile* Nowadays, I feel like I've grown up so that I can do anything, go anywhere, even in foreign countries. So I wish to take a trip to other counties by myself someday.
I felt ‘'How can I spend time alone?'' at the beginning. For example, I went to buy some books on my off day, then I went to a café where I could relax and I read, or on another day, I went to see cherry blossom trees at spring time and autumn colors of trees at autumn. I found some places where I was comfortable and could spend time. Please try to find some place where you can relax and not pay attention to anyone.
In the Kansai area in Japan, it is autumn and the foliage season, so I'm planning to go someplace this weekend.
*Coat and Cloak Coordinating*
The weather is so strange, it was very warm, even in November…Suddenly! The winter wind blew and the season switched to winter, so you might miss the time of thinking which coat you want. Everyone comes to buy coats at the same time. The temperature is getting lower and lower, and the customers feel that they want a coat for each change.. But this year, the weather changed so quickly, everyone wondered when we should wear a coat or cloak. *forced smile*
(When I was in Fukuoka for the event, the temperature was like 25C (77F)!! I spent most of the time in tee and cardigan. The coat I brought never got worn. :.)
Anyway, I will explain how to choose the coat for Lolita-chan who don't know which one is the best for them.
*Coat with Ribbon*
‘'Coat with Ribbon''…All of the ribbons are detachable. It is also comes with detachable cuffs and collar that are easy to wash by yourself. You need a coat in winter so isn't it great to have one that can change into another coat? If you are a student or worker who cannot wear a Lolita coat all the time, I suggest this coat for you.
Take everything off of it and be simple to go to the office or school. On an off day, put them all back and dress up. There are 4 ribbon broaches on this coat, putting them all on of course is good but also put them in your hair, as a headdress, or hat looks cute, too. The coat is made of warm wool, but the hem is made of lighter fabric (There is absolutely no problem about warmth.) so this is lighter than others. I also suggest if you are extremely sensitive to cold and you don't want to take your coat off. *smile* this cape with coat is adorable to coordinate with other clothes.
*Bear-chang Cloak*
Here comes the Cloak with bear's ears on the hood!! The model wore this at the Osaka fashion show…Grrr!! I don't know why but I felt I should get one!! *lol* We have released this product a couple of times, but I don't have one… It is cute! I want to put that hood on, but in the nighttime, they might mistake me for a real bear coming down from mountain when they see me. So Be Careful!! *lol* It is just a cloak but made of the same fabric as a coat so that means it is as warm as other coats. Or you can wear a jacket or other warm clothes under the cloak. Wearing a spring coat under the cloak will give you a very cozy coordinate. And if anyone has a velveteen jacket but doesn't want a coat because it looks too fluffy, I suggest this cloak for you. The length design is cute with a long or mini skirt. Don't be shy, I want every Lolita chan to try this on. *smile*
*Fur Cape*
How to use it!? Probably few (maybe a lot, I don't know) people are wondering how to use this thing. It is too short to wear in winter, but it is made of fur so it might be winter clothes…or so. It is very cute so I want you to try it. The coat is warm enough to wear in winter In Lolita fashion, we wear drawers, petticoat, and pannier. This is an easy way to dress in winter. So a jacket plus Fur Cape is warm enough in winter. If you like cute coordinates, Velveteen Ribbon Jacket and Fur Cape go great together. You may want to show off this cute jacket, so coordinate with this short cape! It looks simple and a bit plain alone, but put it on with other clothes, Viola! It changes into something fabulous and gorgeous!! I also suggest this cape for Lolita-chan who like long skirts or Gothic style. Please try!!
And for the person who cannot stand the cold even with a coat, wear the Fur Cape WITH the coat!! It not only looks fabulous but also is really warm.
*Velveteen Cloak with Cape*
Why does this cloak come with a cape? Because the velveteen is much thinner than a coat, so I thought how to make a warm cloak in velveteen?? Here is the answer!!
The price is much cheaper than a coat, for the person who thinks ‘'A coat is too expensive to buy.'' or ‘'I've just begun Lolita fashion so I have spent all my money on other clothes.'' I suggest this cloak for them.
The expensive coats are adorned with lots of lace and ribbons and stuff, but that gets boring pretty soon… I think a simply designed one is better than something gorgeous or fabulous. Metamorphose's velveteen is made at a high quality factory in Japan and is really WARM!!.
The cape and cloak can be used separately, so coordinate only a cape with a dress, or wearing it in the early spring would be nice, too. This cloak has no lace so it is also great to wear with kodona and prince style. If you like long skirts in chic style, this is the one for you. It is difficult to wear coats on things with flares or princess sleeves, so you don't need to think about the clothes volume when you wear this. (But wearing princess or flare sleeve dress without a blouse will make you freeze so don't forget to wear a blouse or gloves under the dress.)
And for the Lolita-chan who already has a coat and this year wants some outerwear, which is useful, Metamor's Kato recommends this Velveteen Cloak with Cape for you.

We also will have Gothic style long coatdresses. Actually, that one in our fashion show is called a ‘'Tuck Flare Long Coat''. The line is so beautiful you will fall in love with it. I suggest coordinating it with the Fur Cape for those who like Goth style. If you missed the ‘'Long Coat with Embroidery'' or you don't want to wear such a heavy coat, I suggest this coat for you.

Hello. How are you doing? This is Metamor's Kato.
I wrote last week and this week also!!...Well…I should do that anyway because I thought I would wrote every week at the beginning!! *forced smile*
Originally, I intended to give you some timely news…But right now, the Fukuoka shop diary is going on everyday, so I gave it to the Fukuoka stuff.
I couldn't write when my designer's work was busy, but I had many customers tell me that they enjoy to look at my issue, or ask me to write more (my private web issue, too.)…I will do my best!!
*Thank you for coming to the Osaka Shop Grand Opening on October 8th*
Thank you for coming to Metamorphose Osaka shop's grand opening! There were some customers lined up waiting for the opening from 9 o'clock to 11. As quick as a flash, the new Osaka shop was full of customers, and me, stuck behind the counter as a register lady, Oh you can imagine how busy that day was. I looked at our bulletin board later, there were some customers there that came to see me but they came when I was out for a rest. Sorry for that. I do not work in the shop every day but plz come to see me if you have any chance to visit Japan. If you have luck, you can see me ;)
The store we moved into is a little small, but it feels like the old Osaka shop. Lately, there are many Lolita brands being started and many stores move to fashion department stores, like the old stores of Nagoya, Hiroshima, and Kyoto. Maybe some people wonder like ‘'Is Metamor REALLY in a building like this!?'' But inside the door is another world. *lol* …like that.
The first store (?) of Metamor was in a Kyoto residential area. It took 10 minutes from the station, and it was just a regular house to live in. (It was a leased house) It did not look like the ‘'Store'', we borrowed that house as an atelier, the ‘'tea party'', we did just a huge Japanese looking room. *lol* Ah, memories…
After that, we decided to move to Osaka, and at first we had an office but we moved out shortly. The first time, half of it was store and the other was the office. The Lolita-chan population was too small so it was good if ANY customers would come in all day. Actually, I think the correct word was not store, it was like a selling desk. In the store, there was more Italian furniture than products, and we ate lunch in the store, pretty leisurely I guess, even we were blowing bubbles. The office work was not as hard as now, so I served customers myself. We hosted the Tea Party often. There was an empty can at the entrance and people put 500 yen by themselves. It was like an unattended service but nobody stole the money…Well, that time was very carefree… *laugh
On this recent opening day, customers who knew such an old Metamorphose came to see our new store.
Personally, I like such a small shop more than a fashion department store, so I am pleased to see how the Osaka store is going strong. A type of mysterious place, Metamorphose…Where I love. *laugh* Most sincerely to everyone for the support of our Osaka shop!!
*Event is jammed!! …part 2*
This is the event information continued from last week.
Well, the first is the Osaka event.
We do the fashion show in Tokyo and Fukuoka, so I sewed some clothes for a fashion show, so I wanted to do something in Osaka and I was thinking…The event is decided finally!!
The last time we did the fashion show in Osaka I think 2 years ago (may be), what was so hard was preparing so we couldn't do such a big event in this time, BUT we always have so much fun doing this kind of event. Now, I, Kato, am the event leader Kato, I lead everyone from right!
About the fashion show, it is small, like 15 or 20 coordinates, the rest of the time, taking rest with tea is good, or the event of our fashion show is done jointly with a ‘'DJ'' event, actually, so dancing is also OK, there is a bar counter, so if you over 20, you can take some cocktail even if the event is held during the daytime. (drinking in daytime…Mmm! Taste good!!)
This event, it is possible to re-enter, if you feel bored (naa! May be you won't!!), go looking around Horie, I think it is also fun. Maybe, there is some café in the tourist book or magazine around there…I hope you guys enjoy your time with us in your own way with your favorite clothes.
In the event, we have a ‘'handmade work shop corner'', where we will sell some handmade accessories, which are used in the fashion show in Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Osaka. Hello. How are you doing? This is Metamor's Kato.
It is very hot outside since the beginning of June!!...Japan's Kansai area is one of the most humid and hot, so my body is getting lazy. I didn't feel that way when I was young. I feel it will be a very hot summer this year even if it is only June. How is your town?
Probably, it will not be getting cold but hot in Japan. Of course… always be prepared for the next season!!

Last week, This series started to appear at stores and we have gotten so many responses from you…I'm mad HAPPY!! Thank you!!! I feel good to design such gorgeous and fabulous clothes. *laugh*
Actually, I have to think so hard about what kind of clothes you'd like, not only customers but also Metamor's staff, so ‘'seeing is believing''. Please come and see pictures of this White Nights Party series!! I don't mean to, but I feel happy when you are thinking hard about what to get. *smile*
By the way, I took all of the coordinate pictures of the White Nights Party series. BUT I forgot to bring my camera (Ohhhhh! NO!!) So…I took them by just regular digital camera. Usually, I use single-lens reflex camera, but I still cannot handle that, I'm studying how to use right now. But it wasn't my camera so I couldn't focus it, so there were so many photos which couldn't be used.
The image of ‘'White Nights Party'', I didn't think to take the pictures outside so as you can see, the pictures were taken at our Osaka main store. *laugh*
The pictures were not for showing products, it was just to show the “image” of this series, so maybe it is hard to tell what they are wearing. But please expand your mind and think and enjoy about how you coordinate. If you do not have a good place to wear these…why don't you just do picture taking and make your own photo book. Probably, it is going to be your great memory after 10, 20, 30 years later. *smile* I suggest that you take many pictures!!
(When I was young…I thought ''These clothes aren't so special'' so I didn't take pictures, so sadly, I do not have many photos.)
Well, this series started reservations on June 3, have you decided which one you want yet?
By the way, I forgot to write something about the parasol… the handle. This parasol is a bit smaller than other parasols in Metamorphose, so I suggest it for those do not want to carry a big parasol. We used to make ‘'Umbrella/Parasol'' for many years in the same shape, but the umbrella was discontinued so we made umbrella/parasol in different shapes this time. This is much lighter than the old one so it is useful. (And the price is not changed!!)
About the styles which can be used for something casual… we got many question about the ‘'Frill Ribbon Pintuck Pinafore Dress'' from stores. This pinafore dress, the picot frill (it is also call ‘'picot machine frill'') in hem of frill looks chic and beautiful.
This ‘'Picot Frill''…this is a bit difficult, they need very special sewing machines to do that so we have to find the factory where they have it. And it needs a long time to do and the cost is much more expensive than other laces. There are 4 detachable ribbon broaches on this pinafore dress, very gorgeous with them all put in front. The other way to use them, put 2 ribbons in your hair and put on a headdress or bonnet. In summer, wear this pinafore dress as a sun dress or wearing a cardigan or bolero over the dress is also beautiful.
The Shirring High Waist Dress, I push this dress especially for beginner Lolita chan. The material of this dress is burberry which you can wear in all seasons, so in winter, wearing a blouse inside will make a great pinafore dress!! It doesn't come with lining so it is also easy to take care of. The price is also not so high, so you have no excuse not to add this dress to your closet!! By the way, the High Waist is very comfortable and cool to wear in summer. The length is a little longer than others, so you do not have to wear drawers or bloomers under it. The skirt part is tiered so it expands a bit without pannier, too. So that means you can wear this dress without some of Lolita chan's more uncomfortable items!! Of course, wearing it with pannier and drawers makes you as cute as a doll. This dress was designed to look great with a bonnet, too. Please try this coordination!! (If you do not feel ‘'HOT'' in summer!!)
You can see some sample clothes in stores, so if it is possible for you to visit, please come and check them out at the store. The Fukuoka store manager, I told her again and again to just calm down and think harder and harder, and then pick the clothes which you really need. But I do not think it is going to work on her. *lol* So I'm planning to send her rice and soy sauce next time… |

I think that Spring has already gone and it is only the end of May! I feel like the Summer is coming so quickly…How are you doing?
About me…I went to the Kyoto shop to help them during Golden Week, a big vacation time here in Japan. After Golden Week, I got tons of work to do so I'm extremely buried everyday!!
Right now, I'm in a winter mood…*grin* Um, the season in my designer's brain is going ahead about half year. So I'm trying to have fun in the REAL season in my private life. Now, it is the season of roses and hydrangeas blooming…I want to go out to see them at arboretum. In the store, there are many summer clothes arriving. Why don't you make a plan to go out in your pretty summer clothes!!
*Many New Arrivals!!*
The Sailor Series arrived at stores, and the next, the ‘'Lovely Alphabet'', are coming into stores bit by bit. Have you seen them already? This month, I had many chances to work at stores, and I saw many customers who were happy buying clothes…*laugh* I feel so happy if you guys are happy. But I heard many voices say that these clothes were just too cute and that they were going bankrupt!! That makes me happy (only kidding!)and I appreciate all our customers.
In this Spring and Summer, there are many clothes in light blue, Tees and Knit for coordinating with Lovely Alphabet stuff. Pink and light blue, these cute colors are the most popular color this year. Probably, there are many Lolita-chan who do not know how to coordinate. It's difficult but don't think about that so hard, just try. *grin*
For example, if you only have a basic black skirt and a white blouse…wearing pink or light blue cardigan over the blouse will change you into a much more Summery style. If you like black and monotones, but you feel like you want to challenge a new color in summer, I suggest Light Blue. White dresses or other coordinates in white look cute, but take some item like a cardigan or an accessory in pink, and viola, it is going to become much sweeter.
I think this is the first Summer for many Lolita-chan who live overseas, why don't you challenge this colorful style and enjoy your coordinates.
And my push of summer product is ‘'Ponytails''.
If you are not good at fixing hair…Don't worry about that. These ‘'Ponytails'' will help you. Please try them. *smile*
The most important point to put the ponytail on is to tie up your hair with other hair elastic and put the ponytails on. That makes it much easer to fix the direction of the rabbit-chan and ribbon!!
Have you seen the bracelet that is selling at general stores made by cute beads? I think it is cure to put it on in Summer. And wearing Ponytails with that also looks cute and more fabulous!! If you do not tie up your hair, you can use it when you have a meal, or it is also very convenient to hold up your sleeves. *grin* Do not think that ‘'Ponytails'' are only for putting in your hair. Other ways to use it? Tie up a skirt to make bustle without pins or broaches. Using the Ponytail looks like you are wearing a broach. If you want to use these Ponytails but your hair is too short…so you don't think you can put them in your hair…I have an idea for you. *smile* Just take the courage to cut off the elastic parts and put safety pins and remake it into a broach. It is cute to use as a broach but by also putting it onto a headdress or hat looks gorgeous.
It is useful so please give it a try!!

Hello. How are you doing everyone? This is Metamor's Kato.
Today is the last day of March. Almost a quarter of this year has passed…too fast!! There are many people who begin the new life at school or office from April in Japan.
Maybe some of you guys are going to start working tomorrow, you are going to go to a new school, or you've just finished working on the account settlement…and etc…How are you doing?
About me, I've got the worst hay fever. *giggle*
It's not so bad that I have to wear a mask, but it's pretty hard to handle when there's a sunny day. If you have the same trouble, I suggest taking a shower in the morning. I'm not sure if it is medical or natural but I think ‘'All illness comes from the mind''. Take some medicine before taking a bath.
While all of this is going on, the cherry blossoms are going to bloom. I go to see cherry blossoms and Japanese plums every year. It is good to see all that Spring stuff but also I feel ‘'sweets are better than flowers'' so enjoy a good meal. Either way, why don't you dress up like all those spring flowers!! *sigh*
I'm pretty busy (thought of busy??) because of the opening of the Kyoto store and I went to my favorite bands concert (I'm the big fan) these days. I'm busy you know BUT absolutely I'll go to see cherry blossoms!! There are many places you can see them in Kyoto, if you have a chance to come to Kyoto, you should see those beautiful flowers.
My suggestion for seeing cherry blossoms is around the Yasaka Shrine to Kiyomizu Temple, the popular and famous one. The Maruyama Park behind the Yasaka Shrine where you see the overhanging cherry blossoms which are in the TV commercial of ‘'JR Tokai'' are also in a great, enjoyable spot. There are many people who visit there every year, but there are also many nifty stands where you can enjoy. *sigh* My usual course of looking around starts at Yasaka Shrine and passes through Maruyama Park, and most of my favorite places near ‘'Kodaiji'' the temple. You pay for admission, and you can look around the inside of the buildings. There is a passage by the garden made of wood which is my favorite place, I just sit and look outside with nothing to do. Sometimes you can hear the nightingales singing. (But it is not so big, so I suggest that you go with a few friends.) I think most tourists visit Kyoto on a tight schedule, but I want you to take time and enjoy seeing everything.

The Lolita-chan who like pop & cute!! Sorry I have kept you waiting!! After a long-absence, here come the pop'n cute original fabric ‘'Lovely Alphabet'' !! *smile* The print of pop'n cute has a little retro taste, please look at it carefully, the all motifs are acronym of Metamorphose. Fore example, ‘'M'' is ‘'Melody'' and ‘'E'' is ‘'Elephant''…etc. I worked hard to decide every single motif, I was talking to myself. It was just like a word association game. I also thought hard to decide the color, because I do not want them to look like the same images. Now, this is my best one. If you feel like ‘'The print is too cute for me…'' do not worry about that!! I made simple style and coloration. Please try it!!
So then, this Lovely Alphabet Series, I tell you first this series has a very limited quantity. I often hear the message from the store that they want them but…very few!! If you know which one exactly you want, I suggest you better send a reservation request soon. You can see how they look on the Metamorphose web, so please check them, too.
It's going to be a bit later than Lovely Alphabet Series, some accessories like headdress, straw hat, and ponytails are coming. My recommendation is ‘'Sweet Heart Alice Band''. The lace used by this product is the same as the Lovely Alphabet Series one. If you are planning to wear the Lovely Alphabet Series, why don't you try this one!! |

Hello. How are you? This is Metamor’s Kato.
This week, I have to tell you much information from Metamorphose.
At first, I pray for every earthquake victim in Fukuoka. I’ve gotten an e-mail from the store manager of the Fukuoka shop from the night of the earthquake. She attached the picture of the store and it really surprised me! But all of the staff at Fukuoka were all right, so I felt relieved. I was in the Kobe earthquake (Hanshin-Awaji earthquake), I felt very scared. I live in Kyoto but near an active fault. I had many friends who lived in Kobe and Toyonaka, the worst hit areas…I brought them food…There were some classmates who couldn’t come to school because the trains were stopped, or somebody was killed by the earthquake. It was a few days before the graduation fashion show, someone’s clothes for that were under the broken house, or they said ‘’ I don’t think when I would be able to go if I miss this chance!!’’ and they went on the graduation trip even though they had been struck.
I am scared about earthquakes…Our graduation trip goes to Paris every year. You could still see the destruction from the earthquake a full two weeks after it! The roofs were destroyed and covered with blue sheets. Back to Fukuoka, the store was damaged but they re-opened the store 4 days after the nightmare, and I’m very very glad to hear that every customer and staff are all right.
There might be aftershocks so, please, please be careful.
And then in Kyoto, the earthquake hit the day before the Fukuoka earthquake, and that scared me…
Everybody in the whole world, be careful!!
* Metamorphose Kyoto Open on April 2*
Plus, this is the good news!
The Metamorphose Kyoto store will open on April 2nd!! At first, ‘’Maybe it will open on April 1st…’’ Alone, I thought SO hard that I needed to bring some jokes because it would be April Fools day!!
Or ‘’if I take it on, what am I going to do !?!?’’…Yeah, I know I’m a foolish adult *lol* But the opening was on April 2nd, so no problem, yeah yeah!!
The location of the store you ask? …go up to the Teramachi-Rokkaku…well…I haven’t seen it yet, but I heard where the store. It is upstairs of the building for ‘’Takoyaki Shop’ or “octopus dumplings” and a fortune telling booth. The ‘’Takoyaki Shop’’ is really popular, I heard.
Probably, it is easy to find for a person who knows Kyoto. (About Kato, I’m planning to visit there when I go back on the weekend, if I have extra time.)
For the people who don’t know Kyoto…I hope we can upload the map soon…Well, I’ll do my best!!
And, the Nagoya store manager and Osaka staff will work in Kyoto sometimes. And me, Kato, I’m planning to go there, but I heard it is a very small store so I’m going to stay out if the store is too crowded.
Anyway, I’m very exciting to open the store!! I’ll be waiting for you to come!!

Hello! It's been a while. This is Metamor's Kato.
I'll write every Thursday…I said that when I started, but I haven't been keeping up to date so much. Days pass so fast these days at Metamor's office, ‘'Oh, it's already noon!!'', ‘'Oh, it's almost sun set!!'', ‘'Oh no…the day is already over'', or ‘'It's already Wednesday!!'', ‘'My gosh!! Today is Friday!!''…etc…We are working very very hard everyday. It's almost the end of March and I feel like the time has passed so fast.
Yesterday, I was on my way to the office and I got the train, there were a few Jr. high school students who I usually never see. Yesterday, I guess it was the date for grades at public school. About my high school examinations, I took the test of Mei xxx Commercial High School just to be on the safe side, but I flunked it!! That threw my tutor a curve. *grin*
I was such a BIG person to flunk the school test which I took just to be on the safe side, wasn't I?
Luckily, I passed my favorite one, but I was really close to falling out, because I didn't like studying so I didn't do any.
I graduated almost by miracle, so that news made my teacher happy as a clam. *sigh*
I went to the ‘'International Economic Division'' which was extravagantly named SO. Me and the others, there were only 2 people to go that school. I wasn't up for going there because I really didn't know anybody…I thought that at first, anyway. But I got new friends there and we went out after school and my mother got angry about that…
So for people who feel nervous about going to a school with no friends, I promise that you soon will get new friends!! Do not feel nervous, just jump in!!
If your school does not have any school bag, I suggest you bring the Metamorphose's print bag. If there are some Lolita chans there, they can become friends with you!
If your school has very strict rules, I suggest the purse and card case. If you are going up to university or college, probably you will need courage to dress in Lolita on the first day…Why don't you bring Metamor's bag or umbrella to show that you like Lolita Fashion.
I met many girls who say that they have never seen any Lolita in their school. ‘'*** University, I know some Lolita chan go there.'' Or ‘'I saw some customers with school uniform as yours.'' That often happens.
Of course I cannot tell any information about our customers, but our staff, I heard that they meet girls who went to their same school, sometimes…That's very interesting.
The Metamorphose Kyoto Store will open soon, I will feel happy if I can see a girl who goes or graduated from the same Jr. High or High school as me.
Actually, I worked at a store in the same shopping mall…
I felt like ‘'Woooo!!'' *sigh*
I had never thought that I would go back to the shopping mall in that way.
Well, I'm not going to work at that store, but I'm very exciting to open it!!
But probably you think that we do not need to open the store in Kyoto because it is near Osaka. I don't know why, but many Kyoto people don't want to go out of Kyoto.

They have a very complicated ‘'Kyoto Soul'' in their mind, but I think I should not talk about that here. *forced smile*
Of course I'm exciting to see Lolita-chan who go or graduated the college where I went, though.

In the season that you don't need a coat, the jacket will be nice to wear! (If you live in north Japan, wait till warm weather!) If you bought tops and bottoms, try to think consciously about ‘'tops and bottoms wear separately''. Enjoy your original coordinate.
The product which I suggest comes in stock shortly …the ''Princess Sleeve Suits''!! It looks very EXTRAVAGANT, but this is always for ‘'tops and bottoms wear separate''. It is possible to fabulously coordinate a jacket and skirt. The Skirt is a very simple silhouette, so please coordinate with a blouse or cardigan daily.
By the way, speaking of T-shirts, I am pushing the ‘'Dragon''. *grin*
Probably, there isn't much Lolita chan feeling for making the ‘'Dragon'' thing in Lolita fashion!?' ‘'Metamorphose makes anything!!'', I think we jump out of the ‘'what Lolita should be” mindset…*grin*
Then, actually, this Dragon was drawn by a Metamorphose Illustrator. She has this MANIA where she had to copy the dragon on Hanshi's (the pager used by Shuji the Japanese article) plastic bag when she was a little kid. It is strange to say that the same girl is drawing Punky Bear and Rabbie-chang? *grin* She can draw a lot of things, I just called her ‘' The Teacher'' when she drew the dragon. I'm thinking to make more exciting and hot products with this series. The size is Men's size, since the online shop gets many orders from men. I think it's going to be the perfect gift for your father and boyfriend.
We are going to create more nifty products, so wait and see!!

The most popular series, the Sailor Series, can be reserved. I prepared many coordinates so you'll be able to choose an original one. BUT!! There are many products that are full reserved!! You can see some sample clothes at our store, so if you are still thinking, hurry up!! The most popular one is the same dress as last year, but my suggestion is to wear it Over Blouse. Don't you feel the retro taste? I imaged 1940 – 50's for this blouse. If you think that you want to try sailor but are not young enough…Don't worry!! Why don't you try coordinating simple pleats skirt and this blouse? Either way, if you want this series, I suggest you hurry to reserve!!
*Using Online Shop*
I want to say thanks to the customers who use the online shop. Maybe some people do not have enough courage to order, or sometimes products which they want are sold out, even if it is new they cannot get it. I know that. Then, I'm going to teach you the trick technique. (Actually, it is not so ‘'tricky'' though…)
First, the new products are not uploaded at the same time as released in stores. Because it is not possible to take pictures of products before products arrive. Then you might think ‘'We cannot see the popular products that are going to be sold at stores!!'' We just keep products for our online shop. But the products which are full of reservations might not be in the online shop, so be careful.
Sometimes someone sees that the new arrivals come today but they are already sold out. When did you upload?? Actually, the new arrivals are shown on Friday. The staff who are working on the online shop are off of work on the weekend. I cannot tell you the exact time of update but before 21:00. (Sometimes if we do not have new arrivals, they are not uploaded at that time.)
You can still ask to check the branch store's stock even if the product is sold out. So please don't give up!!
But the popular products are moving all the time so the product which you want in stock before the weekend is often gone on Monday. Sometimes products are not possible to reserve. Basically, if it is going to be difficult to get in stores it will also be very hard to get online. So don't forget to check every Friday.
When the product is sold out on the weekend, sometimes it is back in stock the next week. We are working on re-stocking everyday, so if you think that you want products which are sold out, and you are not sure if you want to buy it or not, please visit a couple of times.

The Blythe Doll Exhibit will start at 5th floor of Marui-One Shinjuku. By designing original clothes by each brand, Metamorphose created a doll!! Then we got the Blythe doll…''I don't think this hair style is for Lolita….'', ‘'I think so…'', ‘'transplant hair…'', ‘'I think so…'', then the Illustrator who drew the Dragon did that. *forced smile* First, she needed to take the hair off before transplanting hair, so the process was very fun and we fought over the Blythe. It was going just fine at that time. She got a hair graft, it took whole bunch of time…etc., etc.
About me, Kato, I was the one who made her clothes. I was trying to make itty bitty Metamorphose clothes for Blythe…It took more time than regular size. It took about 4 hours for a blouse!! I was thinking why does it take more time than a human one??
Anyway, we made an adorable Blythe doll with Metamorphose's clothes, so please come and see it at Marui-one Shinjuku!!
By the way, this Blythe is going to sell at a charity auction!

A happy new year everyone!!
Be counting on you this year!!
Well…already almost a month has passed.
I wrote on the bulletin board that I’d been sick in bed since new year’s day. I’m very sorry for all the people who cared about me when they read this page about how I’d been absent so long.
The end of the year is not so busy…But after the turn of the year, I have to jump into a rush, often…And in this year, I even had to do the work while I was absent.
Now, my work and I have calmed down, so don’t worry about me.
*The Useful Way Of School Series*
The first series in this year is our ‘’School Series’’, the reservations for this series started on January 15th!!
Whether you’ve already reserved or are just thinking about which one is good for you…Whatever, you’ve already checked this series out, haven’t you??
This year’s school uniform looks are a little different from other year’s. One idea that is new this year is I imagine ‘’Enjoyable Coordinates’’.
These days many schools are changing their school uniforms so as to be able to coordinate more easily. So in this year, please enjoy your own style!!
Well then, I have designed 2 different types, check and solid color.
With last year’s school series, many people used it like a suit because it was difficult to coordinate with other clothes.
Especially with the jacket, I have tried to design the jacket so it is easer to coordinate.
So this year’s jacket is a very orthodox style, and has gotten much easier to wear with the other clothes in your closet.
For example, if you put a pin and badge on the collar, it looks punky, or wear it with a tee or hoodie, then it looks more like a casual 80’s coordinate. Don’t you think it’s cute??
Please don’t think like, ‘’It is a jacket, so I MUST wear it like a ‘’Jacket’’”. Open your mind and enjoy your cute jacket style!!
If you want a more chic adult coordinate, I suggest the “Accordion Pleats Series” which we already have in stock with this jacket.
It is a cute coordinated blouse and skirt, but it is also a coordinated jacket and dress.
This time, I also designed a school cardigan and vest as well.
If you want to enjoy a ‘’Pettit’’ School Girl’s style, then a check skirt which you have with this vest or cardigan, and socks with the same logo embroidery, makes for a great look!
There is also a canvas bag and tie available as additional items!!
The canvas bag is great as your school bag, and of course for something casual, too.
The tie is shaped as to make it unassuming.
There are 3 different colors available in solid and check, so the look is very different with each color.

Hello. How are you? This is Metamor's Kato.
I didn't mean to not write for a month! I'm very sorry about that.
While I was absent, the leaves on the trees have turned colors! And after that, the weather like the winter is waiting to say hello.
I went to Mt. Takao (in Tokyo, even if I live in Kyoto) to see those pretty trees, but it was way to early to go… Shoot!!
But this week is the best time to go to see that, so I'm planning to go walk to Arashi-yama near my house in the morning.
I went to Tokyo privately, I felt I wanted to see Autumn trees...But I was surprised there are no places in the city o see them.
There are pretty good places to look around like Kamakura, Mt. Takao, and Mt. Okura…Shinjuku Gosho is a convenient place if you want to go the shop in Shinjuku, but there is no place where we can see Autumn and beautiful landscapes.
I got to Tokyo station in the early morning by the “red-eye” bus. There were many old tourists going to Kyoto or Nara by Shinkansen (the bullet train!) in Tokyo station at 6 in the morning. (Old people's morning is very early but 6 in the morning is too early, I think…)
You can take very good pictures in Autumn with velveteen or coats. So I suggest it.
In the winter, there is nothing to see, no leaves on the trees, no grass…and it is very COLD!! *laugh*
If you aren't interested in landscapes, that is the best time to go out.
But a nasty cold is going around, so please be careful!!
The last series in this season ‘'Royal Check Series''
In this winter, The check series with a bit of a thick winter material is going to be in stores. Reservations for this series have started . Have you ever seen this collection?
The basic royal tartan check color in red and navy, and this time we chose purple for an additional color.
Actually we sent out questionnaires a couple times to decide different colors. That's right! We listen to what you have to say! The materials which I found were many…Well…I think the cutest ones are basic colors. *laugh*
The points of picking material were thickness and texture, especially for winter, color, and price…etc… The material has to pass all those points for us to use it. Pretty tough, huh? Yes, it is pretty difficult.
And the fabric business is getting strict. Sometimes the material which we were going to use had all run out. That has happened quite often. So it is getting harder and harder to find good, ready-made material. Well, probably you don't care about what I'm doing. But sometimes I get the request to make some clothes which someone wants, but there is no material left so…… it is impossible to make.
So this series…we make a limited number of clothes, so you better hurry if you want them!
Now then, the coordinates for this series are the outers like ‘'Jacket'' and ‘'Cloak''.
The material is thicker than we usually use so you can wear it in winter with a muffler or stall if you don't live in the place that has a hard winter. Coordinate with ‘'Cloak with Cape'' which we made last winter. And if you live in the north, wear it with a coat. If you want to collect Check Series, the cloak worn with a jacket looks very gorgeous and cute. With a skirt and 2 tops, you'll be able to coordinate many way, so to save money for this collection, I suggest that;
Jacket, Cloak + Bottom
The coordinate is very easy, just a skirt or pinafore dress, but how to coordinate patterned cloaks and jackets? Maybe a lot of people feels like that, don't you think?
Probably, I already talked about this before, the ‘'normal clothes'' …The casual clothes except Lolita fashion, they coordinate ‘'patterned tops and solid colored bottoms''. But in Lolita fashion, basically ‘'solid colored tops and patterned bottoms'' are normal. How come? The white blouse is a basic item for Lolita-chan mostly, so then the bottoms must be patterned…
I'm not sure if that is why some Lolita chans aren't good at coordinating. Especially fluffy skirts which are Lolita fashion's basic style, so you have to think about the coordinate so that underslung coordinates look good, but if it switches, it looks unbalanced.
So, if you want to wear patterned tops, wear deep colors for bottoms. And dark shoe colors are going to be the best.
Black is the most useful color, but if patterned jackets, skirts, socks, and shoes are all dark, it is too dark and heavy.
If you don't like such a heavy coordinated look, please coordinate with white socks or white tights.
If you feel only having white just on your feet looks wired…Then please wear a white blouse or choose a light colored muffler.
There are cute mufflers in 5 and 10 shops in Japan. But the material is not wool it's acrylic 100%...so it isn't warm enough, but looks cute so it is good for accessories. You can buy a bunch of different colors, so you can change and coordinate differently every time. (I suggest you wear warm wool mufflers when you go to school and work…)

Hey girls!! This is Metamor’s Kato.
It is already the middle of October!! Time is running out so fast!!
Many Japanese students have had their sports festival at school recently. Do you have such an event where you live?
Since we are on the topic of school festivals, I was a member of the Acting Club in jr. high and in high school I was in the band club, so I think I was very busy around this time of year. It isn’t like sports. We didn’t have any competition or anything like that at all. When I see autumn colors, I am reminded of those days.
It is easy to go out when we are getting older, so if you are the same as me, please find a chance to go out.
I am on a ‘’Woman Can be Herself’’ kick, and I go on trips alone mostly.
At first, I thought it might be so lonely to go to a tourist spot alone, but I don’t have to think about the time so that is pretty good. I can be selfish!
I’m the one who likes to stop and stare when I go to a temple or shrine. So it’s kind of hard to stay there with your friends without them feeling bored.
When I walk around holding a camera, and go to a cafe or hot spring, some kind woman who is near me may strike up a conversation, that is another fun point. And I’ve gotten so I can do pretty much anything when I am alone…*laugh*
But there is a girl even more so than me!! She went to this bar (a kind of place where old guys hang out and drink beer) alone and she jumped into a fisherman’s banquet at the beach! (Of course she is a girl!!) I’m a weird one so maybe some of my friends are, too.
There is a big fan of a racer of speedboats and she goes to see his race even if it is far from where she lives, and the other friend, she is a kind of professional at bass fishing! (Of course they are girls!!) I’m not such an active person so I have to learn from them…I think.
The weather is pretty good so I cannot wait to go out.
So if you are alone in the house on a holiday, just jump out of your bed and go out with your favorite clothes. The winter will come soon!!
I took coordinate pictures
I haven’t taken coordinate pictures for a long time…then I took these a few days ago. We didn’t have much time to go out and take pictures. So I took them so quickly but… Any way, I hope you enjoy these.
I took pictures and I felt I cannot imagine how cute the clothes are without people! I designed all of these but…they look so much cuter on a person, even though I was afraid that they were to plain and simple. Our staff (who are also Metamor’s models!) say they cannot imagine “cuteness” from drawings, then when they wear the clothes, they are cuter than they had thought! (….and they really want them, too!) *laugh*
On the topic of picking out clothes that look good on you, of course picking the color and style that you like is important, but it is also important to imagine how you look when you wear them!
Please imagine where you go and how you would coordinate them, you will be better able to pick clothes that look good on you.
I think the person who can pick clothes that make THEM cuter can enjoy fashion more than anyone else.
So please think about that and look at these coordinate pictures, and I hope you can find clothes which look good on you!!
I also give you some idea of accessories in these pictures.
The most useful color…that’s going to be black so are there any bags, hat or shoes which you don’t use?
I feel the ‘’Felt Canotier Hat’’ color in bordeaux is the best. I was surprised that looks good with a lot of clothes. Especially the coat, most of you pick black, and if you wear a black hat with a black coat, you know what? It looks very black and BORING.
If there is somebody who has a black coat and looking for a hat, please try the bordeaux hat.
But coordinating colors is difficult. Sometimes it looks good on one girl, but not for another. So if you don’t think it is right for you, please try another one. If you cannot decide, please ask our shop staff. They are going to help you!
The winter is coming closer and closer, so we have to wear coats and our options for coordinating will be limited. Especially the Lolita-chan who have just begun to wear this fashion might find it hard to think about coordination, so please do “simulation” before you buy new clothes.
By the way, there is new issue of ‘’Goth Loli’’ from boutique-sha.
This time I designed clothes which you can sew easily…How do you like them?
There were limits to the material and design, so…Actually I want to make a blouse jacket and skirt with the same color so the look shouts…Well, that’s OK, isn’t it?
It is going to be much easier than the last one with shirring. I designed coordinates with the last ‘’Goth Loli’’ design too, so please try coordinating with those clothes also.

Hello. This is Metamor’s Kato.
We’ve got so much typhoon in this year in Osaka. And the last typhoon had past yesterday. And it is getting colder and colder out side now. How are you doing?
Yesterday’s Kato coordinate was vintage clothes cardigan which I got shortly.
I didn’t want to get rain on the cardigan, so I put the cardigan in the bag then my arm got rain.
That cardigan is the vintage from Europe, and it is not girl’s clothes, actually it is for boys (may be for 13 or 14 years old).
It’s very good condition so I cannot imagine that cardigan made for 40 years ago.
I think that was treated very good and somebody sold as used, then passed more years…then somebody wear it…I think that is huge story.
It was lost few buttons so there are 3 different buttons on the cardigan. *laugh*
May be, each of these buttons have different episode…I always think like that.
40 years…That is pretty long time. It was passed 2nd entire life of the girls who go to high school. When I think about that made me I have to take care of my clothes.
And same as this, the Lolita clothes which you and I have, some other people wear that clothes after 40 years…When I think that made me feel like neat.
For example, one who is 25 years old now, after 40 years is going to be…60 years! Perhaps you give the Lolita clothes to your grand-child, “This was my favorite dress when I was in your age.”
I feel like I have to make high quality and neat design clothes even after 40 years they still look so.
Please treat your favorite clothes good.
May be some day, it’s going to be your good memory.
Winter Collection is coming!!
The beginning of this winter, it was Bouquet Series, Velveteen and then Coat!! There are so many products with happiness came in.
Did you get what you want yet?
If you still wait their arrival…I’m apology about that. This time, especially Bouquet Series, there were a lot of different products and we ordered a lot, so the sew factory is very busy. They send to store as soon as they can.
Probably you feel wired that Bouquet and Velveteen series are still making but coat is in store. I explain why that was happened, there are few factory which we trade with, so speed of making clothes are different by each factory, so that’s mean arrival of clothes would be different.
When the very beginning of Metamorphose, the company leaved our clothes on a back burner and they sewed other company’s first, so Metamorphose’s clothes didn’t sew for a long time that I felt very upset and disappointed.
Right now, Metamorphose got big and famous so may be some other brands are sacrificed…I think.
The busy season is same as last year, so we can easy to imagine when the sew factories are busy.(That is just right now!!) They do their best to deliver to Metamorphose store, the people who is waiting so long, I apology about that and please wait a little longer.
Well, such Bouquet, Velveteen, Coat…We exciting about that in this season, we’ll over when we made those…naa! No way!!
We are working on the new winter clothes made with check pattern material.
If you don’t like flower print clothes, and you don’t want thick velveteen ether, please waist a little more.
BUT! We cannot make this Check Series because check material felt few.
If you feel “ Yes!! That’s what I want to!!” I recommend you reserve at immediately!!
We got many products which we started to show you pictures.
My recommend of new products is “’Ladder’ Lace Formal Mini Dress”.
This products color in black, navy, and off white. My favorite color is navy!! If you don’t have colored clothes and you want to try, or if you wear colorful clothes and you feel like you want a chic clothes, I recommend this dress for you.
The navy is all mighty color, I already told about that before. Navy clothes looks different image by what you wear with. It is more versatility than black clothes.
And I think the best color to show you pretty is navy.
For example coordinate with shoes and socks,
Black – Chic Image
White – Cool Image
Brown & Antique White – Classical Image
Red – Moxie Image
The navy is all mighty color like that.
This dress is short sleeve so wear cardigan over the dress is cute, wear blouse under dress is cute, too.
Navy is all mighty color I told you, so you don’t have to worry about blouse color.
It is also for cardigan. Normally you will pick black or white to coordinate but pink cardigan is going to be sweet Lolita style.
It’s good for Lolita-chan who will graduate or acceptance, please come and see.
Others, I recommend Play Card Series which you can be cute sweet Lolita and casual punk style.
Pretend you are magician of circus, coordinate top hat and boarder socks are also cute, isn’t it? Actually, we are making accessory of play card series right now. This is the set of bracelet and necklace, it is not so expensive but cute so it’s going to be great gift for your friends. It will come in store on the beginning of October.
Other products, we haven’t made pony tail for a long time. These are useful and casual so these were very popular each time. Now, we are working on to make brand new one.
This is going to be on November a little later than other accessory.
There are going to come some accessories, so don’t miss it!!
Reproduction and Products Addition
Some product which was not made many and sometimes Lolita-chan who couldn’t get it told me “Please reproduction that product!!”
Of cause I want to response your request but there are products can reproduction and not reproduction. I’m very sorry about I cannot make you to comfortable.
There are no left of material, we make limitation clothes, or sometimes we cannot make clothes by factory. Especially the clothes of season’s it is impossible to sew before that season sometimes. We always think about these things and then we decide make more or not.
And some customer thinking that it will be possible to make to ask Kato… I’m sorry about I’m not governing of that.
So if we cannot help you, I apology you.
And we got many inquiries about to be Metamorphose’s model. I’m very sorry about we are not recruiting models. Every model is Metamor’s staff. Why I use our staff? Because they wear Metamor’s clothes everyday so they look belong with Metamor’s clothes. That is I want to show customers. ‘’Lolita clothes’’ is just ‘’normal clothes’’ it is no meaning to take pictures if customer cannot imagine she wear same clothes.
Very few of girls, they told me they want to be a model but they have not wear Lolita fashion before. These are not pictures for models these for customer so…
At least, when she feel Lolita clothes as her own skin…*laugh*

| Attention about wearing Velveteen |

Hello everyone. This is Metamor’s Kato.
Our Kyoto store closed for the last time last Sunday.
It had been there for only 24 days from August 20, it was pretty short, but we thank all the customers who came to the Kyoto store.
There were some people who found this store on the final day by chance, and they were surprised to hear that we were closing the store that day.
We didn’t have a big announcement for this limited time store, so it was the store “for people in the know”. *laugh*
(It was kind of a “secret store”.)
We didn’t have any trouble, the staff came from other shops to help out at the Kyoto store, and they enjoyed Kyoto.
Some staff went shopping, others went to look around town, they had fun out of work, too.
The store managers of Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Nagoya, and Sapporo staff came for an induction course…I could see people who I cannot see often. I could hear a lot of opinions from them, and I’ll take those to work next time.
Incidentally, I worked in Kyoto for 19 days!! I do work at stores sometimes, but I don’t do any clerical work.
It was different than usuall for me and I learned a lot.
And I felt like I can still work at a store! (*laugh* I used to work at a store but maybe I forgot how.)
If I have a chance, I want to work at a store long term.

Velveteen Comes to Stores
There are Velveteen Series coming now.
Maybe some people haven’t seen the velveteen material before.
So, I will teach you about ‘’Caution about Velveteen’’ this week.
If you wear Lolita clothes for a long time, the experience teaches you how to treat velveteen, but you may have some trouble with velveteen.
Lolita fashion is not the fashion of the day, so I want you to treat the clothes well so you can wear them longer.
First off, what is velveteen? What’s the difference between this and normal material?
In Metamorphose, we use cotton 100% velveteen material.
But it might be different from other brands.
You’ll find velveteen fur lies one way.
The price and look of the material changes by the length of the fur.
Of course, the longer the better…
Normally, velveteen uses cowlick so it looks textured.
Why do we use cowlick? Because it looks whitish by light if we don’t use cowlick.
But sometimes we use that way just for design.
Velveteen, how to make the fur short…
Well…briefly to explain it is like cutting a towel loop on the right side.
In fact, the section looks like this U-U-U-U-U-U-U-U-U-U
The material is usually loomed, so it is intricate.
But with velveteen, you see, the sections are intricate but they are very fragile. That’s the first thing I want you to know about velveteen.
Then, our velveteen is made by cotton, so the material color comes off very easily.
It is impossible to stop this even when using a type of high technology for dyeing.
Cotton is one of the easiest materials to lose color among fabric, especially velveteen.
Of course, we only use velveteen made in Japan. Although it is more expensive, some cheaper types of velveteen have much lower quality.
This policy is one which has never changed since Metamorphose started.
You see, dark colors can come off faster than others.
Incidentally, there are not many makers of velveteen in Japan. If all of these companies quit making velveteen, and they cannot accept any special custom ordering, then Metamorphose will also quit making our velveteen series.
Another point is also the color of the material…the water which is used to dye is very important.
This type of water in Japan is very clean so the color is clear, but some cheaper fabrics use water which is not of good quality, so it is difficult to dye into a nice, bright color.
It is easy to see the difference in the case of pink and red.
If you feel the color is not clear, maybe it is made using a cheaper method.
The dye system technology around the world is getting higher and higher, and they use the same quality dye machine as Japan. But on the point of the water, Japanese technology is firm.
That’s why we use Japanese material, of course other material like Burberry and broad cloth are also made in Japan.
Some materials which are made in Europe, use a very clear and bright dye color which we cannot use in Japan and the water is very clean. I learned this when I was a student.
But, there are many materials lately which use dye made in China.
Back to the beginning, most cotton fibers are grown in India.
Not only material, but also the building of the fiber…WAIT! There is no end to this subject!!*laugh*
Attention about wearing Velveteen!
Such a delicate material, what should I not do when I wear it?
Please see below.
*Do not wear hard tulles pannier.
*Do not wear a strap bag or shoulder bag. Especially chain straps are not good for velveteen.
*Do not use back packs.
*Do not carry a large bag. If you need to have one, please be careful not to rub against the clothes.
*Please pay attention when you wear light color bags like white or pink.
These colors can bleed off and do damage.
The velveteen fur sometimes gets entwined in chain straps and comes off. So please be careful when you wear Metamorphose’s Muff this year.
When you wear a back pack, the fur in back might come off. Of course there’s a lot of friction!! And sometimes you might sweat in back and the color may come off, so I do not suggest light color back packs.
*Do not go to live concerts with velveteen!!
*Please be careful when you wear white blouses.(especially, the pinafore dress with sleeves)
I got an inquiry about velveteen clothes fur which had gone bad even after only being worn once!
I asked her to tell me more about it, and she said that she had gone to a live concert with those clothes. The tulle pannier rubbed against the back of the velveteen clothes, and some of the clothes were rubbing against other people in the crowd…This situation is like “Putting the clothes into the washing machine”!
And, the wrinkles in velveteen are also hard to smooth out.
Of course the clothes can be damaged when you go to a live concert and bounce around in the crowd.
So please do not do that!!
When you wear a white blouse under the velveteen pinafore dress, for people who perspire heavily, PLEASE WEAR UNDERSHIRTS!!
This is not for every person, but you know who you are!
The sweat makes the color duller. Mysteriously, there are some people whose sweat makes colors dull a lot, but there are others who do not. HMMM!
I don’t know what the difference is, but that’s what happens, so please be careful.
*Please be careful especially when it is raining or snowing.
*Don’t carry whitish colored bags when it is rainy or snowing out side.
If it is not rainy…the moisture is still there…
Moisture + friction…that’s going to be the cause of color dulling. So remember where you heard this!!
Attention about Care
When you go back home, you should take care of your clothes.

*Dry in the shade.
*Don’t put in drawer, please hang in closet.
*Don’t squeeze your clothes into a tight space.
The most important things is to dry them completely. It takes a long time to dry because it’s thick.
Don’t put your clothes into a tight squeeze so as to conceal them from your mother.*laugh*
The way to hide them from your mother is to cover it with something.
Try leaving the clothes in a shopping bag, that’s stealth, baby!!
If they get wrinkled, they will never recover.
When they get wrinkled, the iron is going to work, isn’t it? You may think that, but velveteen cannot be pressed very hard so please be careful.
When you hang them in your closet, maybe you have too many clothes so there is no place to hung them, so you JAM them in there.
I understand this, but DON’T! Remember, velveteen is VIP!!
*Do not press.
*Do not put them into a washing machine.
You can’t press velveteen. But steam is OK.
BUT!! Do not press directly.
Please put something around the velveteen(Handkerchief would be the best), please put the iron slightly above the clothes then STEAM IT!
If you press the clothes directly with a steam iron, the color will come off.
After steam, please dry your clothes and make sure they are dried completely.
Of course, you can not put your velveteen clothes into the washing machine! Do not hand wash either.
*Do not use sealing tape or any other sticky thing to take off dust.
The fur will be gone.
A few years ago, I put a ribbon on using two-sided tape to stick it on to the velveteen dress when I was taking a picture.
After then, I took off the tape…the fur fell of that part!!(Of course those clothes were ruined!)
So the sticking thing is not good.
If you use any sticky tape, I think you can clean up other clothes with it first, then use it for velveteen.
*Wash velveteen in a dry cleaning shop THAT KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!
This! This is the most important!! You may think they are professional and know much about cleaning. BUT, then you ask them to clean your clothes, when your clothes come back, they are destroyed! That happens often in Japan. Because some cleaning store people are not REALLY professionals, they are just part time workers.
Sometimes dry cleaning stores call Metamorphose.
There are a lot of “surprise cleaning stores” so be careful. Theses days you can use the internet to find a good store.
Some stores accept shipping if you live far away.
If you are looking for a cleaning store near by, ask your neighbor what is good. Here is a plan. You go there and check it out. Is it OK or not? You don’t know for sure, so bring in some clothes which you don’t care about and check and see if they know what they are doing.
When you take delicate material like velveteen clothes to a cleaning store, surely say “These are very important clothes, please take care, with caution.” Or ask them “How do you treat these clothes?” etc…
That’ll be good to say something like that at first.
If they treat you like “Ah- Ok, ok.” You must think whether to ask them to wash your clothes or not.
You like the clothes so you ask a professional, if they are the person who understands that, they’ll treat your clothes just like you do, with care!
All of this makes it sound like velveteen is hard to take care of. But if you wear velveteen a lot, you will feel that it is worth it!! And remember, they are just clothes. If it gets a little wrinkled, nobody dies. OK?

| Autumn Clothes are Coming |

The Bouquet Series clothes are tumbling into stores now!
Arrival dates for ordered clothes from this series are different, so there are some people who have gotten their clothes already and some who haven’t.
There have been so many orders (thank you!) so the factory is doing their best to deliver to you, so please wait a little more.
When we make samples, we do not make them in every color so sometimes the samples are sent directly from the factory to stores so I cannot see every color.
When I was in the Kyoto store (I was there for a month from August 20) I could have a chance to talk with people about the Bouquet Series. And all they said ‘’We can’t wait to see them!’’ which reminded me that a lot of people like Metamor’s clothes in Kyoto, too!
There are some Velveteen Series which have come into stores recently.
The Velveteen Jacket this year is kind of casual. Of course, almost all separates coordinated with the velveteen skirt look great, but I especially like the tartan check skirt!
A little British style is neat, like when you go to school or work coordinated with chambray pleated skirts.
Please enjoy your own style.
Hurry Up! Knit Cardigan is almost gone!!
We’ve had knit cardigans from the Autumn collection at stores since the end of August.
When we feel we need some cardigans or jackets, the popular colors are almost always gone… That’s what often happens!
If you feel a little chilly at night, that’s the perfect time to get a cardigan.
Incidentally, we don’t make any other knit series in October or November. Now you can choose the color of cardigans. I got 3 cardigans this year.
‘’Ribbon Cardigan’’, I bought black for just a normal casual style.
And ‘’Rose Cardigan’’ color in white, I thought it’s a little retro 50’s style…
It’s also cute with Biscuit Series which we had last year.
I suggest wearing a blouse under the cardigan for a Lolita-chang style. About Kato, there is Uniqlo, a Japanese discount clothes store, upstairs from our Kyoto store, so I wore black sleeveless high color knit under a white cardigan.
Don’t think that you have to wear a black cardigan with a black blouse. You can always try it in pink or white.
It looks more colorful and cuter than when coordinated with the same color.
I also got a “School Cardigan” white in men’s size for when I wear pants…But I think it looks too casual to work at our store, so I don’t coordinate that way yet.

| Antique Bouquet is coming!! |

Have you seen the drawings of our Antique Bouquet series, yet?
It's a little bit early to explain, so to start, I will introduce the features of each color.
First, Old Brown
Probably, there are many Lolita-chan who have never worn that color.
But all those flowers in the print are very pomp, and they are more fabulous when you wear these.
First flower print, first pattern clothes…I push this color for every person.
Antique Blue's image is like a little elderly lady or smug faced doll…
If you like Gothic taste, this is the thing.
That blue is a deep color, so a person with fair skin will seem a bit flaccid, so I think you had better put on some extra make-up.
Smoky Pink looks good on people who usually don't look good in pink. For example, smoky pink makes your skin look more beautiful than brilliant pink. Many Lolita-chan think that I like pink, but I'm not young enough…but don't worry about this smoky pink!! Everyone looks great in this!
Let me talk about the design next.

Versatility color “Navy”
This is especially for those Lolita-chan who think Bouquet is OK, but it's not for them.
Sorry!! But we won't have any other clothes this winter…Naaa! I'm kidding*laugh*

Think about typical jeans color of navy, don't you think that looks good?
Navy is the almighty color, it looks good with even brilliant colors.
Put something navy for bottoms, wearing white for tops gives a “tidy” image, if wearing black, it's going to be more of a “muted” image.
“I want to wear pink or red, but I don't think I can wear them!!…” if you feel that way, how about wearing pink for tops and navy for bottoms, so that will make for a sweet Lolita style.
On top of that, yellow or orange makes you look energetic.
